"I Could See Everything" is my latest mixed-media Free Association Funnies piece. A large image can be seen on the website in the bio. 22"x 15" on 300 lb watercolor paper.

A pretty damn spot-on cartoon by Darío Castillejos.

Doing some research, I ran across this powerful Art Young cartoon in the February 16, 1911 issue of LIFE magazine. About five weeks later, the Triangle Shirtwaist Factory fire would take place in NYC on March 25, 1911.

Picked up three wonderful examples of Will Henry's "Wallace the Brave" daily strips. I love Will's writing and artwork.

"Does It Sing?" is my latest Free Association Funnies mixed-media mishigas. Some of the glaze colors don't scan well. I'm still working on the conversation between painting and drawing, while trying to remain responsive to the marks and images. 22"x15". Inks, acrylics, color pencil.

My Free Association Funnies work is an attempted balance/imbalance between painting and drawing. I wanted a decent tabletop easel, but I'm pretty rough with my materials and needed something sturdy. Nothing two pieces of plywood and a piano hinge can't handle. Rubber washers are on the bottom.

"Sluggo Waits" is the latest bit of Free Association Funnies mixed-media weirdness to come off the drawing board. As always, there is never a plan in mind with these. Lots and lots of good failure along the way. To view a larger image, head on over to my freeassociationfunnies.com website.
