Hey #canada : don't get suckered into Trump's push for energy deal/partnership. They're just looking at lining up more suckers to feed more power into their idea that AI data centers will save economy
They want Canada's power, and cheap(er) hydro power to be pushed down South.

Hey #ottawa : it's (finally) raining!

Hearing lots of stories of rural homeowners with dried-up / low well water levels needing to get fracked or having pipe being extended.

Here's hoping that we get more long steady rainfalls between now and when ground freezes up ...otherwise, we might be f#$%@d

Long ago, that is how our family got to enjoy our big goofy boy, 'Leo'. Just as his first family decided to move out of the city and onto a large wonderful rural property (where he would have totally loved it) they said 'no more'.

On our large wonderful rural property he flourished! 🫶

Does he even know how many hours that #NATCA members put in?
And now he thinks that they will take a few Uber rides as a side-hustle...on top of the high number of hours that they are working already due to ongoing staffing issues (under-staffed units).

So, what is the point of this rant?
I think that society, politicians and our Laws need to be re-assessed when it comes to the use of public space and the collective rights of its users and that from the view point of 'harm' (similar but not the same as #privacy laws!)

Yep: having to follow vehicle where other driver's window is down ('cause it's a beautiful autumn day in #ottawa, and having one last ... maybe! ... drive with opened windows) where smoke is belching out into shared public space!
Are non-smokers having to be forced to close window for clean(er) air?

#ottawa sidewalks are littered with discarded cigarette butts.
Public sidewalks are shared spaces (we need more of those BTW! and parks! and public benches too!)
How to reduce/prevent enjoyment of that space: 1 cigarette smoker, that's how (for non-smokers that is!)
How to dread commute drive home?

Want to smoke in your own house? Gross but okay!
Want to smoke in a private hotel room? Well, no that can be restricted if not outright illegal!
Want to smoke near entrance to office tower? Nope, @en.ottawa.ca bylaws permit that to be restricted to 9 metres.
So, push smokers out to others spaces!

Where is the line between the personal space of 1 individual and the encroachment into the personal space of another individual?
Is the non-smokers personal space inclusive of the proximate air that is required to breathe?
The right to breathe must outstrip the right to choose to smoke?

I have no issue if that person wants to inhale carcinogens and exponentially increase respiratory failure and disease and cancers! (Actually I have an issue due to social impacts and health costs!)
But, where is the line crossed between personal choice and the healthy choice for non-smokers?

Why I have had it with smokers (tobacco and weed).

How is it that smokers think that they can just light up wherever the hell they want to, and that at the expense of non-smokers?

Case: 10 or so people enjoying peaceful, fresh air of provincial park at boat launch, and 1 person lights up!

What problems are they trying to use AI to solve: better drug research modeling versus more deep fake videos of today’s “it”-person?
