Most folks know me for my bird of paradise designs and leaf designs, but lately I've also been trying out new, larger forms that feature colorful New Orleans houses.
A tan speckled mug with a colorful bird of paradise flower and its leaves depicted on the exterior. A large, dark green platter shaped like a banana leaf. The dark glaze is shiny and accentuates the vein texture on the leaf as well as its central stem. Several mugs with bird of paradise and leaf designs hand-painted on the exteriors appear behind a small salt bowl with a wooden spoon. A large, oval-shaped vase with one very wide flat side that features a hand-painted double shotgun New Orleans-style house. The house is bright orange with colorful blue doors and shutters, red and white trim, and a blue porch ceiling. The vase is being held up in front of a lush green yucca plant.

My name is Glynnis, and I love a leaf motif, a critter, and a splash of color.

I've been playing with clay since around 2013, and make work out of a shared private studio in New Orleans.
A whale-shaped mug where the whale's tail forms a handle. Half of the mug body is white like a whale's belly, the rest is dark blue, with a few barnacles and whale eyes and flippers near the bottom. To drink from the mug your lips meet the whale's, which form the lip of the mug. Glynnis stands in front of a shelf filled with pints of commercial ceramic glazes. She has short red hair and glasses, with a smile as she looks directly into the camera. Three monstera leaf-shaped ceramic catch dishes, all dark green, are glossy and shiny and reflect light. They appear against the white backdrop of a photo box. A flat tray with handles is made from red clay, with a triangular blue stripe motif inlaid into the clay surface. Inside the walled tray are four copitas with the same inlay pattern, each with a different blue-ish color. Behind the copitas is a bluish glass bottle of mescal.
