I had a friend from HS that went to iraq dismantling land mines (not sure for the army or a PMC). Either way, after his contract ended he came back, got a boat and hasn't set foot on land any more than he's absolutely needed to since.

I also can't help but believe that this is targeted against the professor because they're queer. This is exactly what happened in Texas. It's a witch hunt to push LGBTQ people out of academia.

I think the closest we're gonna get is some of the tie in books and comics. I believe one is supposed to be a novelization of the 5th ark DLC For the time being.
