The putative centre left parties have been flailing ineffectually since then too because they thought at some level they were on the same grift as the previously centre-right. They don't perceive that the new far-right generation genuinely believe the centre left are cattle to be slaughtered

I'd go even further to say global capital essentially won the planet a generation ago and everything since has been decline. The smart operators who profited from the fall of communism were too successful and their heirs are dullards. There's no masterplan behind Trump, just racism and nihilism.

How is this repeatedly made into a policy issue - by *all* parties - when the blunt fact of the matter is that grown adults who are obliged to pay for their own education, and relentlessly pursued to repay their loans, should be able to study whatever the fuck they want.

I reckon letting automated tools handle IDing CSAM is fine though, always been pretty horrifying how most of it is outsourced to near-slave labour in the developing world (to the extent that the automated tools aren't themselves just underpaid humans too, a big caveat)
