Sorry! Must be a different Jeff Ayers. I tried to confirm if I was tagging the right one, but it was hard to say for sure; my bad.

If you aren't already reading #StarTrekLowerDecks from @idwpublishing.bsky.social by @ryannorth.ca you're missing out, not only on something special, but on something clearly written by a guy who spent quality time flipping through the Star Trek Encyclopedia noting the Buckaroo Banzai references

You had me briefly concerned that source code changes might force me to rewrite my JavaScript bookmarklet that I use to maximize punchlines, but it appears I had no reason to panic, even acknowledging that would be a silly thing to panic about.

Just because he didn't succeed doesn't mean he didn't try. Kurtzman has spoken up in favor of the show continuing.

Though, whether he did or not, looking for who to point fingers at seems very against the spirit of Mike McMahon's comments in my original post.

"I see a lot of anger. The way to get the show picked up is for me to be able to [...] go 'Look at all the people that are begging for this. Look how kind and bright they are. You wouldn't be capitulating. You'd be giving them a gift.'"— @mikemcmahan.bsky.social

So @mikemcmahan.bsky.social, I know there's loads of historical precedent for ships named Beagle (including the one in "Bread and Circuses"), but I have to know if this was also a sly nod to Porthos. #StarTrekLowerDecks

1/4 There's an odd but frequent narrative where modern media, when held up to "media criticism" (i.e., nitpicking) is flawed and thus viewed as worse than earlier iterations of the franchise. But if the previous entries were evaluated with the same types of criticism, they wouldn't hold up either.

I also need you to clarify if Badgey is saying that bananas are sentient beings unless the answer is no.
