As said on that other app I plan to be like Garp's wife - a reader, not a writer. But I likely wont be able to restrain myself ...
I see others have chosen the wobbegong so I'll go for the Grey nurse shark - for decades unjustly blamed for attacks in Australia because they look like a 'dangerous shark' but aren't and perhaps because they have an easily remembered name.

I dunno - Josephine Tey's novel The Daughter of Time, where a bed-bound detective tries to solve a historical murder and chooses Richard and the princes, did make me wonder if he was unfairly labelled as the guilty party. But it was written decades ago so this new doco looks worth a watch

I love the 'Quick let's get out of here before those creatures kill Guy'. Just the assumption that it has to be Guy who'll die, not any of the others.

Myself and two other Australian friends went to the Carter Fold as part of a US road trip and since there were no nearby camping grounds Joe Carter let us pitch our tents on a nearby field. 'That's Carter Family land son' he told me, 'and you're welcome to stay there' Great memory of a great trip.

Wish I could claim this comment someone made on a MeidasTouch YT video on our election result: In Canada: Elbows up. In Australia: Albo's up.

I grew up in an Australian country town and until I was about fifteen thought Chicken Maryland (battered chicken leg and thigh, battered banana and pineapple ring, bacon and chips) was an authentic Chinese dish.

I've been listening a lot to That's How Every Empire Falls, written by RB Morris and done well by him, John Prine and Marianne Faithfull:

But at night he tells his woman
"I know I hide behind the laws."
She says, "You're only taking orders."
That's how every empire falls
