Reading serious takes that make the whole situation about Trump as if he was the only reason we are where we are is incredibly depressing

Sure, he's pushed things further and faster than predicted but the rise of reactionary politics predates him and started in the mainstream

Very glad, proud, and impressed to see @rokuppers.bsky.social's important research published in Political Research Quarterly. @rokuppers.bsky.social situates his study on how ordinary people engage with the identities that populism seeks to mobilise. #polisky

Misinformation isn't random - it's strategic. 🧵

In the first cross-national comparative study, we examine 32M tweets from politicians.

Celeste Caeiro has died at the age of 91. She gave Portugal's Carnation Revolution its name by distributing free carnations to the military that overthrew the dictatorship on April 25, 1974. The red carnation became a symbol of our freedom. Rest in peace.

New blog post!

I remember the faces of people staring at my ‘Department of Methodology’ hoodie. What do you even study? But here is my ode to the methodology dept. at LSE

Hope this will be useful for the people thinking about grad school!

People moving to Bluesky is not a structural solution to monopoly tendencies and network effects. For that you would need a real shift towards a fediverse architecture, meaning your contacts/content is platform-independent. But some differentiation in terms of platforms people use can only be good.
