So, the Giants signed him to a one-year deal but he's not expected to pitch this year? They have a club option for next year. Did we sign him just to have the option for next year???

Prospects are also a trade currency that just has not been available to them.

Funny, I wondered if your article was going to address the coaching staff, and sure enough. The silence is getting ridiculous.

I would think so too

Looks like Giants are getting international slot money too.

No offense to Deppermann, but this offseason has been sooooo boring.

I think ownership is stuck in this loop. They don't want to dump a bunch more money in the team because they're not convinced they can win. But, if they don't invest more money then they probably won't be competitive.

Good point. The team seems to have been ambiguous about Jayce Tingler and Frank Anderson. Is the trouble nailing down roles that Tingler wants associate manager title and pay? Is Anderson going to be more of a director of pitching? Is his role one they're nailing down?

Looks like they know they have to hit better to turn out more position players. What do you think the hold up is in officially naming the MLB coaching staff?
January 18, 2026 at 12:25 AM
Other notables who wore the number are: Rich Aurilia, Shawon Dunston, Joel Youngblood and Joe Morgan.

Change the optics, carry American flags. Let footage of the clashes show you're fighting for your country.
January 14, 2026 at 8:15 PM
The Giants haven't been able to sneak anyone through the wires too AAA.
January 13, 2026 at 10:38 PM
I have to say, this has been an extremely boring offseason. There hasn't even been an official announcement of the full coaching staff. What a snooze fest from the folks in the memory making business.
January 9, 2026 at 5:40 AM
The only explanation I can find is that they hoped to sneak through waivers and stash them in AAA. Didn’t work with Weimer. I haven’t heard of Meckler’s outcome yet.

My mother used to say that expression in Spanish. I translated it to “The more I get to know mankind, the more I love my dog.” Seeing your post made me smile.

I'm sorry for your loss, Jeff. Goose is cute.
January 1, 2026 at 4:16 PM
With the 40-man roster full, who do you think is getting cut?
January 1, 2026 at 3:55 AM
Who is getting cut next, do you think?
January 1, 2026 at 3:28 AM
He could sneak through waivers.
December 18, 2025 at 3:01 AM
Agreed. Now what are the corresponding moves? I think a trade imminent or they would have already announced the corresponding moves.
December 17, 2025 at 8:38 AM
I take this to mean they won't be re-signing Verlander.
December 17, 2025 at 1:52 AM
All of that’s great but the clock is ticking and we need starting pitching.
December 13, 2025 at 8:19 AM
What do you think of these losses?
December 11, 2025 at 3:36 AM
Maybe they have other plans for Rodriguez. Where else could they play him? Right field? I think I remember reading he also played infield though. Not much room there.
December 10, 2025 at 7:49 PM
Agreed, I would rather they not give up any draft picks. It seems clear they're trying to build up their player development so they don't have to rely on free-agents as much, or be much more selective about free-agents.
