I found the same issues with chrome and firefox, it just depends on which navigator you are developing first

The "new IE" was about delays, not about bugs 🤔

One question, have you tried « dir » attribute with « auto » value ?
For instance, with translate on Safari: it works perfectly!

Actually using it in production for our clients.
Works great! We removed our old app that only works for iOS, now can be used on every platform and web browsers.
The only limitation IMO: we have to make our own "onboarding" for the web app installation.
