How that then tracks to Straczynski being a jerk too, I sure don't know. People are definitely complex and there are a lot of great writers who were jerks (Roald Dahl mentioned a lot too). Hard to figure out where to draw the line between buying/supporting.

Read the @straczynski.bsky.social intro to Last Dangerous Visions for a much more complete and complex look at Ellison's personality and personal demons from someone who loved him and knew him well. And yes, there were almost certainly some serious mental health issues there.

Yeah it’s a bummer. I’m on my 3rd one (bought it in 2019) and I still think they’re probably the best EV out there. But I really can’t imagine I’ll get another.
