Even if these ill advised assumptions play out, how is this a master stroke? Isn’t the point of DOGE, at least partly, that it insulates elected representatives from culpability for these unpopular moves? I doubt that republicans will benefit by opening a door that ties them closer to Musk’s BS.

The misplaced assumptions in this article are wild. (1) DOGE is going to need to uncover some actual, not alleged, waste. (2) Cuts by congress would be constitutional, unlike executive branch cuts that infringe on congressional authority. That’s literally the point we’re all making
