I love that as some of MAGA wants to be seen as backing away from the situation in Minnesota (even if they don't actually intend to do so) because of the optics leading up to midterms , the guy they sent to fix they situation is openly stating that they aren't backing down.

The constitution doesn't matter. If/When the dust settles after this tumultuous period, whatever that looks like or however long it takes, we need to draft a new constitution for the modern era, with clearer language and stronger consequences for breaking it.

This is a good point. I’m guilty of using the word “protestor” myself. I’ll be more careful going forward.

Why are ICE allowed to handle protests?! Why is this allowed to happen? Every fucking MAGA talking head says ICE is doing their job, deporting criminals (we know that’s not all they’re doing but that’s what they say). So what part of their job is crowd control?

Cops are allowing ICE to do crowd control during protests, something they’re not even remotely tasked with doing, nowhere near their stated duties. My fear is that the majority of state and local police are OK with what ICE is doing.

Even if it covered them 100% in the short-term, do they really want to be beholden to the whims of Trump? Will he continue to cover them, or get bored? If these stories keep coming out, he may ignore them outright out of spite.
