I also think I might have felt more hopeful about the world back when I didn't feel every morning getting out of bed like I'd gotten my ass kicked in a bar fight the night before.

To me, only a couple years oolder, life seemed more authentic before mobile phones & the internet took over so much attention. I also had the feeling that, regardless of my disgust at Reagan, each Bush's bullshit war, Clinton's sell-out, progress was, slowly, being made toward justice and equality.

Thank them briefly for their time w/o being effusive, mention very briefly one or two items from the interview that interested you. Then say you look forward to speaking again soon. That's it.
