Moving and poignant remembrance of Frank Gehry, well worth the read: www.theglobeandmail.com/culture/art-...

I know it’s nearly impossible to set aside Steve Cropper’s unparalleled command of the electric guitar as a rhythm instrument, not to mention his towering contributions to modern soul music — but man he rolled with some pretty badass threads back in the day too 🙏 www.nytimes.com/2025/12/03/a...

“Billie and I met, and I said, ‘Look, our goal here would just be to shoot your show. I don’t want to impose myself as a director.’ In fact, I even offered her, ‘Why don’t we co-direct this? I’ll just show up with cameras and record it, essentially.’” — James Cameron, to Matthew Belloni for The Town

Caught a few shots of Jim Steranko and Larry Lieber in conversation at this weekend's @bigapplecomiccon.bsky.social

Between the two of them, they've seen over 100 years of hustle, hard work and triumph in the comics game. Absolute legends, and very nearly the last ones standing from a bygone era.

Mani was just the nicest guy, with a whip-cracking sense of humor. Interviewed him back in 2006 when Primal Scream released Riot City Blues and he had me in stitches for nearly an hour. Let the tribute parties begin…

I’ve been a committed Yoko fan since I first came across a pristine copy of Approximately Infinite Universe at Waterloo Records in Austin back in ‘96. She’s a genius, and John obviously knew it too.

I’ll never understand the haters. www.thenation.com/article/cult...

I had absolutely no idea Donna Godchaux sang behind Elvis on “In the Ghetto” and “Suspicious Minds.” Gonna have to go back to listen to those with newly tuned ears.

Never saw her live with the Dead, but man she led quite the career. www.nytimes.com/2025/11/03/a...

I’ve heard he was working on a new record with Raphael Saadiq, a team-up which by itself is as tantalizing and poignant as his entire career has been. Just mind-boggling, genre-stretching talent. www.newyorker.com/culture/post...

Just last night I came across an IG clip of him whipping off an impromptu guitar vamp cover of Funkadelic’s “Soul Mate” 🔥

Incredible talent. I can’t believe he’s gone. www.bbc.com/news/article...

I still get goosebumps watching this show. It's simply unbelievable that a band can sound this hard and powerful, in 1970 or any other era. www.youtube.com/watch?v=krFW...

Like a lot of youthful bohemians I tried to read Slouching Towards Bethlehem in high school with the same cold eye that Didion trained on her subjects — but the mystery, wonder and wildness of California always seeped through. And maybe that’s what she intended. www.thenation.com/article/cult...
