Man Utd's kit is designed to look as if the player's sweat is soaking through the back of the shirt. Some designer has thought long and hard about the psychological effect of their opponent seeing them and thinking they're working harder than they actually are. Probably.

Okay, maybe they’re not exactly the same.

Something I didn't know how to do until today:

If you want to go back (or forward) to a specific date in Google Calendar, type "g", after which you'll be presented with a "Go to date" modal.

"Thug", noun, "a man who acts violently, especially to commit a crime"

Regardless of your thoughts on the use of pyrotechnics at football events, language is important.

Would not have guessed that I’d listened to Blur so much this year. Suspect that’s down to me playing along with Alex James’ bass lines.

March 2001. Who fancies coming to King Tuts Wah Wah Hut in Glasgow to see Llama Farmers? Some band called Biffy Clyro supporting. Or you could see my band supporting The Cooper Temple Clause, later that week.

I've yet to listen to it, but I like the artwork on the new Black Grape album.

Hector Bellerin has never looked cooler than with his current 'stache & mullet combo at Real Betis.

I presume John Brown was showing the band this picture of him, rocking the original kit that they ended up wearing in Texas.

Last week, I bought a second-hand Squier Vintage Modified Jazz Bass and I've loved playing it since it arrived. I'm heading back into the studio with some pals and I'm looking forward to hearing how it performs. /end

Once that was sold I effectively retired from annoying Glasgow with my bass sounds. But I acquired a 1971 Ibanez #1912 from @fraserc69.bsky.social for a few gigs and it has served me well ever since.

My work's insurance policy meant that I received more cash than the Hohner was probably (definitely) worth and, with it, I bought an Epiphone Thunderbird. The sexiest bass there has ever been. Sold it to someone on a Rangers messageboard after recording this with it: open.spotify.com/artist/5H8pU...

I've recently started playing bass again so here's my bass history. First bass I owned: 1990 Hohner B-Bass Professional. Drop-d tuning switch at the bridge. Bought it because it looked like something Michael McKeegan from Therapy? might play. Was stolen from my workplace in the early 2000s. 1/
