An excerpt from an article written by Beth Elliott in 1973. This final paragraph is in response to an Inquisitor in a dream. No, Let me explain something. It’s beginning to dawn on me that you are treating me just like men treat women. You define my identity, my sexuality, my relationship to what you want to think is true. You expect me to act in a submissive, subservient manner, then treat me as less than human. The idea that I might be the same as you threatens you, so you hold me down. You expect me to be satisfied with “feminine” clothes and mannerisms, and to stay in my place. I am here to be exploited then discarded – SFDOB said that in print, publically. These are the sort of interactions many trans people have with women. These are the real human stories that don't make the news. Trans people and cis people share so much in common.
Tumblr user 1: There's this huge media storm that, even when it's supposed to be "trans positive" still paints this atmosphere of separation between trans and cis women. This has been the opposite of my experience. I'm grateful for the solidarity between all women <3 Tumblr user 2: There are gonna be young cis women who are gonna delight in helping you find out what sort of clothes you wanna wear, how to look after your skin and hair, helping you on the path to learning the difference between like, what you feel you *should* present like vs what is actually comfortable and authentically you. There are going to be menopausal cis mums who are on the same brand of estrogen patch as you who are gonna join you in griping about getting them to stick and swapping tips for when you get dispensed the big patches but your dose is half that. There are going to be infertile cis women who share your pain and anger at the concept that 'able to bear children' is seen as the only 'real' way to be a woman. There are gonna be intersex cis women who understand what it's like to have your body's default state not line up with societal expectations. There are gonna be queer cis women who will stand with you at Pride, who will welcome you to our family, our community.

Third is a series of Tumblr posts by user dramatic dolphin, posted on Feb 22: In case you don't know why this is bad and would like to because you aren't a stupid reactionary weirdo: 1) rape and child molestation have historically been the accusation levelled against any group the group in power doesn't like, exactly because it's a heinous accusation that makes people lose their critical thinking abilities. 2) This includes gay people being painted as child molesters, black men lynched for allegedly molesting white women, and many more examples. 3) It is crucial that people will twist the meaning of words to fit the situation. If a black man looks too long at a white woman it is flirting, which is basically the same as molestation. A gay person existing near a child is a sex crime against children, because being gay is inherently sexual and so on. 4) When conservatives say "protect the children", this is a dogwhistle. They are counting on you to lose your critical thinking because sex crimes, especially those against children are so heinous. 5) It is also crucial that these laws never come from an actual intent to protect children/women. The real intent is always, always weapionising it against marginalised groups. 6) Why? Because once you have created a group you can act in inhumane ways towards with full sopport from the populace (in this case pedophiles and rapists), it is now in the states vested interest to classify its opponents as part of that group.
