Disappointing result, but the plusses are the new signings, Holman, Borland and Olakigbe, who all impressed. Mabete looked fired up when he came on. Play the younger players on Tuesday and go for it! PotM: McGregor for his goal and defensive prowess. Munroe is solely missed.

PotM: This a difficult choice, Kirkman was exceptional, but went for Borland who played two halves and provided the cross that led up to the winner. Mabete, Wright, etc., etc., deserve a shout. Overall, a surprisingly good evening with great organization, spirit and excellent new recruits.

PotM: A toss up between Ripley and Tafazolli, going for Ripley for two fantastic saves. Would not have won without Munroe, for an assist and for an incredible tackle, hopefully he is staying. Who knew that Tabor could win headers. Memories of McHale and the punch up in the tunnel are fading.

PotM: McGregor ahead of several honourable mentions. Any win against Cheltenham is to be savoured. Hats off to Holloway for getting the depleted team up for the game. Probably have only four substitutes for Sunday. Finally, the disallowed Palmer goal seemed to be overly harsh. Happy New Year!

PotM: Nichols. Decent performance against the money bags side of the division, deserved a point. No Drinan because of the idiot with the whistle at Bristol Rovers. Too many games coming up to fast to dwell on this result. A win at Cheltenham coming up? That would be a great way to end the year.

Thanks to all concerned, a great listen. Hoping for a giant "Bah Humbug" towards the opposition at 5.00 p.m. on Boxing Day.

PotM: Palmer for scoring and helping out in defence constantly. Lyndsey stated pre-match that Crawley are considered the most difficult to beat in the division per opposing managers. Crawley are close to the team that won the playoffs, just can't score. Clean sheet and three points, Happy Xmas!

PotM, Joe Snowden for ending the game as a contest early on. Totally agree with Ollie regarding the ref., wouldn't send of home player, Forde, in the first half despite two obvious yellow card infractions when already on a yellow. Drinan seeing red when fouled in the box was a travesty.

PotM: JKL, for snuffing out so many attacks. Otherwise, an awful, utterly predictable performance, 95 minutes of torture. A wake-up call of Colchester away proportions. When Drinan shot over in the first half, I had the sinking feeling of what was to come, uuuuuuuuuughhhhhh.

Thanks to Phil Smith and yourself for the excellent comms, today especially as live video was not available. Across the pond, I for one was hanging on every word. It's been too long since there was such excitement at the County Ground. Today, Nostalgia was something it used to be.

Only audio at the chateau, so can't comment. Takes me back decades when an away tie at Swindon was the kiss of death. Even Cloughie's teams were put to the sword.

PotM: Clarke for the winner. Narrow win, could have gone either way. Important to win with the other cup tie on Saturday, upcoming. Some very decent performances besides Clarke, Ward, JKL, Wright, Snowden, Munroe, the list goes on.

Thanks for raising the difficult questions, it's obviously a pretty thankless task. I never know what to expect during pre and post match interviews, except the unexpected.

I think we have to accept that the manager is a brilliant yet complex individual and leave it that. I am extremely grateful for the rescue from non-league oblivion, followed by being in the hunt this season. While results remain excellent, let's just be tolerant and thankful.

PotM: Couldn't pick one, all starters and subs share the accolade. Holloway gets the plaudits for the tactical change at 1 : 1. Gritty second half performance with the home bench looking increasingly desperate. Great cameo from Tabor, should have scored. Could have been 3 or 4 to one.
November 29, 2025 at 5:19 PM
PotM: Jake Tabor, linked well with Palmer, and could have scored. Again, frustrating, went 2 : 0 up and then stopped playing. Should have nicked the winner in the second half. Missed Drinan and Nicholls. MacGregor kept a lively Vernon quiet, key in the last half hour. Grimsby, decent at this level.
November 22, 2025 at 5:23 PM
PotM: Tafazoll for his goal and dominant defending. Should have been out of sight by half time, instead of an added time sucker punch. Both Munroe and Snowden obvious by their absence especially in terms of often laboured attacking down the flanks. Fleetwood will win many more home games.

Expect the backside to be on the bacon slicer for the entire game tomorrow afternoon.
November 14, 2025 at 6:47 PM
PotM: Drinan for his hattrick, scoring goals was the objective. Swindon looked sloppy at times especially in the second half, albeit that Ward seldom looked troubled. Funny moment - Nathan Thompson being subbed off, cheered by the Swindon fans with indifference from the home supporters.

I learnt recently that Neville Chamberlain received a degree in metallurgy from the University of Birmingham in the late 19th century. Material Science as such only appeared in the 1940's, hence Chamberlain was a metals Materials Scientist by education. Thought that was interesting.
November 7, 2025 at 11:51 AM
PotM: Ripley, for that first half save, Mabete not far behind. Colchester who have won every game in October were full of confidence, with Swindon having to defend with much better organization and awareness than lately. Like Tuesday, a game that should have been won, but could have been lost.
October 25, 2025 at 4:20 PM
I think McGregor with his defensive skills was played at right wingback to counter the threat of Jodi Jones, for which I think he was largely successful. Snowden might have struggled against him. Ollie mentioned something like that in his post-match interview.
