Ok, I have been trying to make a good squash and stretch for like a month now and they always decide to just either make my character 2d vertically, or a pancake with the slightest movements. So i beseech thee, how do you make a functioning squash and stretch?

today about 17 hours ago, I found out what chrono trigger was. and for the past 12 hours I've been trying to put it on a CD. That's how good of a game it is.
