Like it’s actually way more complex and challenging material but I feel like a lot of people treat it like this whimsical, almost exotic or Disney like ideal that glosses over the ugliness it acknowledges. It’s about the good with the bad

what's scary is it's gone on for long enough younger folk have fully adopted using this uncritically as slang WITHOUT the knowledge this ISN'T slang, this is a marketing strategy of people trying to keep ad dollars or not be shadowbanned from the algo. this is not a natural evolution of language
