Spent most of my working career as Marine Engineer moving between large cargo ships, cable laying vessels and superyachts. Spent 12 years ashore within the marine industry including building and converting ships, before becoming a university lecturer.
Took this back in 2012 in Kent. There was a morning mist which muted the sharpness quite a bit, but it still came out okay considering the wooden deck was like an ice rink and the water was far too close for comfort. #photography, #B&W Not sure where the swans went, maybe in another photo - Doh!

oving this #AI conversion to #ANIME. However, it either makes me look young and dashing (hey I am biased and visually impaired) or a bloody old man that I am sure once appeared in an actual #Anime movie. Hopefully I am somewhere in between as a medically retired 57 yr old 😉

17 and scrutineering on the 1985 RAC Lombard Rally at Kielder Reservoir, UK. Marku Alen - Group B Lancia Delta S4 not long before they banned Group B for being wildly overpowered and having too many accidents. They were brilliant incl. Metro 6R4 and Ford RS 200. Freezing cold overnight service stop.

Always liked this quote that IU now have stencilled onto my spare room. I have terminal #cancer #Myeloma and use this room to learn to play bass guitar and finish making airfix, revell, Tamiya model kits. Best I get a shuffle on 😆 Everytime I start somebody stays over and uses the spare bed - Doh!

#photoraphy - A favourite shot of my daughter taken in the New forest here in the UK. The backlighting and the haze mixes to give an almost tranquil feel. The New Forest is a wonderful mix of housing, forest & ponies that wander freely, often resulting in mischief when they get in people's bins!

Regarding #Ukraine's issue with drone attacks and their ability to shoot them down. With the USA's intimation of retiring the A-10 Thunderbolt #warthog would these planes be suitable, noting their slower speeds and the infamous GAU-8 gun. Lesser skilled pilots could be used within their own airspace

A nice flashback to a lovely area in Devon back from 2020, which has now been converted into a splashback for our kitchen #photography #photo
I lost my balance on the slippery rocks as my cancer and chemo has stripped away most of my leg muscles, so down I went!

Taken a few years back in Northumberland, UK. A blue globe thistle, simple but one that I have loved as it seems to pop out at you a little.
