Wild about world of women's sports, especially soccer, big mad about ongoing inequities.
Retired cybersecurity nerd enjoying no on-call and no keyboards.
Definitely, absolutely, really, truly convinced that Bay FC club management does not know what they are doing.

It's interesting too that they did announce that Mary Long had a SEI in December, but it doesn't appear here.

It's the Berman Abomination

It's awful!😢

An EXPLOSION of growth in # of teams, entrance fees, and media rights (and potentially merchandise if they had better and more merchandise) all point to more money for league.
Berman spending it on high priced Manhattan HQ lease & management team expenses leaves less for teams/players.

Interesting background of this writer-religious studies student at McGill University in Quebec.
She does point out numerous issues with the alleged "roster classification" of HIP and the meager salary cap.

Why do they (NWSL owners) believe in such meager rations? That is the story behind the story.
January 14, 2026 at 5:33 PM
Same-well kept surprise!
January 14, 2026 at 5:07 PM
Interesting.
Would surmise that the attorneys for NWSLPA would then argue that it is indeed NOT a roster classification as a player could drop out of the qualifying classification but league contact would force them to use the "roster classification" rather than salary cap. A process problem.

Another great episode. Another HIP rule Q: does the rule apply throughout the length of a player’s contract or only at the time the contract is signed, e.g., if player qualifies at time of signing based on 2 years prior, but in year 2 of contract no longer qualifies, does team revert to salary cap?

Thank you for taking the time you put this together & collating the feedback.
I hope that we can "see" some of the comments!
I enjoyed participating!
Go Spirit!

Remains to be seen if Giraldez, having worked with Patri, Alexia and Aitana, will be able to stomach elevating Korbin to first string.
Maybe I need to pay attention to the DAZN schedule and see if I can watch a game or 2 this year.

Excitement over the riches of Spirit roster placements!

Look-it’s obvious that the Long’s wanted to hire a coach that would agree to their back room deal to give maximum on pitch time to their favorite KC Current player.

Who is that you ask?

Mary Long!

Any relation?

Sure - their daughter!

It’s so obvious-the Long’s wanted coach who would agree to their back room deal to a maximum amount of on-pitch time for their favorite KC player.

Who is that you ask?

Mary Long!

Any relation?

Their daughter.
