Nikki Giovanni's COTTON CANDY ON A RAINY DAY was the very first book of poems I bought with my very own money, circa 1983. I kept that book close for decades--dog-eared, stained, tattered, loved.

Terrific to be out volunteering with Ulster Wildlife’s native oyster restoration initiative at its Glenarm Marina site on this gorgeous sunny day. We measured and weighed the oysters, looked for mortalities (very few!), spied a cormorant feasting on its lunch, and learned a bunch.
