#WinterSoCosy2025 Day 9: Gnome

The initial drawing I did was more an elf than a gnome. They share some features, so it would’ve been okay. I changed the green outfit to blue. Green/red really gave elf vibes. Blue/red is a good classic gnome colour combo.

I like the drawing, but it really doesn’t fit this month’s cosy aesthetic. Which is okay. But I don’t have a lot of time to draw atm. I’ll take this one as it is. I created a custom fish skeleton pattern/brush for the background.

After Pakjesavond we are finally “allowed” to start Christmas decorating. I usually start in Nov. I don’t care for other ppls opinions. The only reason it’s not decorated yet, is because of the mess the reno is causing. 😂

We celebrated Pakjesavond, the night Saint Nicholas (Sinterklaas/Sint Nicolaas) brings young (and sometimes old) a few gifts, which often arrive in a jute sack. was an interesting challenge as I’d never drawn one before.

Sorry for the lack of art this week. Real life (reno, holiday prep, health) took over. For those unaware, we had a gas leak in September (and then found a 2nd leak). Everything has been chaos ever since. Didn’t expect to up our mortgage this year, and have reno done in Nov/Dec, but here we are. 🥲
