NRK reports that a Norwegian man charged with spying for Russia and Iran said he was motivated by America’s “one-sided support for Israel.” The man was detained in November in Oslo. He worked as a guard at the U.S. embassy. According to NRK, he now faces up to 15 years in prison.
A 27-year-old man has been arrested in Norway on charges of espionage. According to TT, he has admitted his guilt, stating that he collected and passed on data to Russia and Iran. However, the Barents Observer reports that the suspect has denied the espionage charges. (1/7)

Two times before, the media reported about “suicides” in the same pre-trial detention centre, known as Vodnik, where Kotov died last week. Once, in 2020, there was a "suicide attempt" - the prisoner survived.
Olga Romanova, from the prisoners’ rights organisation “Russia Behind Bars,” believes that Kotov’s case was intended to be the first criminal case for being “a member of an extremist LGBT organisation.”
The information is confirmed by Kotov’s lawyer, who said that the authorities claimed Kotov committed suicide at 4 a.m., reports the Russian human rights group OVD-Info. t.me/ovdinfolive/...

A Russian accused of "organizing a gay travel agency" was found dead in a pre-trial detention center in Moscow, Russian Telegram channels linked to law enforcement agencies reported today. According to them, 48-year-old Andrei Kotov committed suicide.

Germany says that it did not shut down Channel One Russia’s bureau or expel Russian journalists. The German government’s spokesperson blamed Berlin authorities, saying that the two Russian journalists must leave Germany due to “residence law” issues, reports Reuters.

Ch. One links the expulsion to censorship in Germany. In a report aired this morning, the expelled journalist Ivan Blagoi stated that the expulsion is evidence of the popularity of Channel One in Germany, as its "different from the picture [from the frontline in Ukraine] created by German media."

Do you wonder who called Maria yesterday? It was Alexei Gromov, the Kremlin’s chief of propaganda, according to Agentstvo. Two journalists from their sister outlet, “Proekt,” who had been in contact with Gromov before, confirmed the voice.

Russian Agentstvo reports that Russia's FM spokesperson received a call during a press briefing, and a voice on the line asked her not to comment on 'our strikes with ballistic missiles.' What’s more interesting is that the moment was cut from the video later uploaded by the ministry.
