My friend, take a seat. The bottle is on the table. It is autumn, dusk, the crows are shrieking outside, the winds are shrieking outside. Can’t you hear the poor souls moan in purgatory? I want to tell you a few stories...

This cute Cheiracanthium inclusum visited me. Known as the Black-Footed Yellow Sac Spider, it is a rather small pale yellow species that is indigenous to the Americas. It is often found living in the foliage of forests and gardens but also can inhabit human homes.

According to the calendar of the right religion, today (not November 11) is the feast of St. Martin of Tours, medieval French bishopric who would trundle the pilgrims off in a oxcart to show them the sights of the city.

Today's S.o.D. = Saint of the Day. If you thought inflicting poetry on you in English class was a violation of your human rights, Theophanes the Branded (an early influencer -- he's on the right) had it way worse.

Unlike some online birds who gyrate painted Whore of Babylon-like to the inane thumpings of disco music, my bird obligattos to the hit song "Please Don't Say No... Say Maybe" from the 8th highest grossing motion picture of 1945, the Lauritz Melchoir vehicle "Thrill of a Romance."

Happy July 18th, the Synaxarion of the Holy Martyr Hyacinth of Amastris! He was known for his fastidious housekeeping! (You need to be a regular watcher of PBS Long May it Live! to grok this pun.)

Glad to see that the boarder guards in Carney's Canada are protecting us from unidiomatic piano music.
