Didn't know you grew up in Canada. For my earlier generation, the weird connections were people like William Shatner, Alex Trebek, and Lorne Michaels, who all had lives and different careers in Canada before they became household names in the US

I have heard similar things from critics and concert sponsors about viol consorts: too much of the same sound, therefore boring. But nobody ever says that about string quartets. I think these are comments and attitudes born from ignorance and inexperience. It's a pity they have a platform.

Once watched a deer and her fawn much through an entire border of hostas. We thought it was landscaping; turned out it was lunch.

And it was featured in Tom Scott's video blog eight years ago, now with 27 million views and 18 thousand comments! The story never gets old, apparently. Well, it does, but it keeps going. youtu.be/Ef93WmlEho0?...

Lived in Ohio for 40 years and never knew it had a slang meaning! But 6-7 reminds me of the livery company dispute between Merchant Taylors & Skinners as to who had precedence: both claimed 6th. In the late 15thC they were forced to alternate 6-7 yearly – hence, chaos at sixes and sevens.

And every good library should come with a harpsichord! Silentio inviolato!
