...people ignore it because "remake inferior to original" (a sentiment I actually do mostly agree with for 999 because a lot is lost when the two screens is replaced with the two modes you aren't really forced to engage with, but not to the point of outright ignoring story fixes).

The remake actually clears away the confusion by having that line be spoken out-loud by the character that it was supposed to belong to the entire time (and Uchikoshi did help with the remake's script so if it wasn't intended he would've stopped them), but whenever I bring this up...

Namely, a lot of people, upon replaying the game after seeing the true ending, assume that a line of dialogue which is on the bottom screen (and thus, with endgame knowledge, is assumed to have come from a specific character) near the start of the game is a bit of foreshadowing at an endgame reveal.

I want more people to play 999, but I don't know if I want Chugga to LP it. He's very informative and would almost certainly cover the developer interviews and things like Snake being declared gay by Twitter poll, but one of the biggest misconception about the game isn't covered by those interviews
