The only good thing to come out of this is for Canada. We have already seen dozens if not hundreds of health care professionals move across the border to live in a safer and more caring society. The United States loss is our gain, and the momentum continues to build in all professions....

assinine decision. The ATC staffing issue is so minimally associated with the shutdown but more about the decades of poor management and lack of training to attract new controllers. Like the shutdown stopping is going to help the staffing situation - ridiculous - spoken as a ex controller in YYZ

I have always been an advocate that just like the general workforce, if the retirement age is 65 then all politicians must not run for a term once they turn 65. Let the next generations make the decisions for the future......

I am not convinced it is a drop, but more of a regular commitment to not buying American. We hardly even think of it anymore while shopping as we just quickly look at labels and move on if made in the USA. Probably only a handful of items in the past 6 months - we are good.....

Sadly this has been a constant battle since Reagan fired the controllers in 1981. When Clinton, I believe, reinstated the opportunity for any still active controllers (a number were hired in other countries, including a bunch in Canada who I had the pleasure of working with) it still didn't help.

Yes, we have so many friends down there after living there for almost 7 years in a bunch of different locations. But like his first term in office, we will wait to make our next visit sadly. Sending love and strength to our American friends who are struggling greatly right now.
