Yes! One thing I am interested in re the ICE interference theory is whether any/many of the likely swing districts are in areas where sending ICE goons would make any “sense” (in maga terms) or would be tolerated. Eg white suburbs in red/purple states. Detroit or Milwaukee etc are not swinging.

We can all see it plain as day. Democracy doesn’t die in darkness, it is systematically destroyed right before our eyes, out in the open, because one billionaire hasn’t amassed enough of his own wealth.

Jeff Bezos dealt a death blow to journalism in America, single-handedly.

He should be remembered forever as the first lawyer to surrender. A stain on the profession.

Couldn’t happen to a nicer guy. May he always be remembered as the first lawyer to surrender.

I think they’re terrified of the evidence that hasn’t come out yet re Pretti. They know what Bovino and Noem said is not yet fully curdled.

What worked? You do not include Trump’s actions in your analysis. Trump was a huge part of running his own numbers into the ground, which is standard pol sci re overreach and thermostatic opinion. Saying “numbers fell therefore Ds should have said more before they fell” ignores 12 months of news.

100% yes. There’s more to come out. Maybe videos that have not yet surfaced or maybe officer statements.

That’s what I thought on Jan 7, 2021…

Bovino can come back for his state law prosecution. Total piece of shit.

I totally agree the backlash was predictable and don’t deny you predicted it. The q is whether Ds could have/should have tried to “lead” the backlash. There is a good argument that louder D leading on this would have not helped the D cause. Call it the Trump dug own hole theory.
January 25, 2026 at 7:08 PM
But *what* was predictable? I would say it was predicable that Trump would overreach and his policies would be less popular. That had little to do with what Ds said. You have a real post hoc propter hoc thing with all these posts where you ignore what Trump did in between the datapoints.
January 25, 2026 at 7:00 PM
It’s fine to disagree on tactics but your posts on this ignore the possibility that Trump himself cratered his own standing on the ICE issue - ie, killing Good etc has made this/him much more unpopular than anything Ds could have said in mid 2025. Negative polarization is a real, empirical thing.

Also they have offered 0 explanation for what the fuck ICE was doing in the street. They are just driving around beating people. If they had some valid mission they would say what it was. So much of the “debate” turns into “who should not have been there” - but why were they there??

Should be the front page tomorrow everywhere.

Of course history did not end. But the largest political wins of the civil right movement happened before the riots you are talking about.
January 25, 2026 at 4:05 PM
Panthers founded in 1966, after passage of major civ rights laws by LBJ. Biggest riots also after passage of 64 law etc. watts 1965. Detroit 1967. King assassination riots 1968. You’ve got it backwards.

Someone should ask why are you dressed like an actual Nazi?
