Class rights and differences play a strong lasting part in survival rates and the likelihood to have a high quality of life, especially in war-torn society, favoring the upper class and leaving the lower class citizens as disposable. #eng367 #atonement

Briony feels like she's shaping up to be an unreliable narrator with the selfishness she shows and uncaring attitude to the situation developing around her

The characterization is very good i think, having a 13 year old give up on their dream because it didnt work out the way they thought the very first try. Im curious to see if Briony returns to this. #367britlit

Kazuo Ishiguro's novel "Never Let Me Go" raises the question of if bodily autonomy is something only awarded to a certain class of people. The argument against bodily autonomy for the lower class is presented through the system of donors that he creates in this novel.

What does the students' discussion about what sex is and what the guardians want for them regarding sex have to do with their own sense of autonomy and freedom in this reality where they are being grown to give their bodies forcefully?

Honestly I'm a little lost about the timeline, is Kathy reminiscing or having realizations about this very farm-like livestock childhood she grew up in? What does this mean for her future and her career? Does she have a future?

I hope the rest of the book ends in a little redemption for our black cat, I have a black kitten myself and yes they're mischiveous but they're the sweetest-- "You wicked little thing!" said Alice. #367britlit #AliceThroughTheLookingGlass

I like how the ending of Alice's Adventures in Wonderland leaves a feeling on uncertainty, not the clean succinct ending we're used to in Disney where she returns home. The ending here is told in child-like innocence but feels like this trapped dissociative feeling aside from reality. #367britlit
