Why I am Hopeful for a Better Future. Last night I had an epiphany that gave me hope for a better future. Like everyone else I am well aware that our daily lives have become an utter fustercluck under the Xtofascist MAGAt’s and their dissolute Orange Idol of Depravity. They are dismantling and destroying the government that belongs to We the People for the purpose of serving the needs of All of us. Things look bleak now but this shall pass because the Xtofascist MAGAt’s are incompetent idiots who use brute force and ignorance to impose their venal agenda. They cannot prevail because Dumb and Dumber just alienated the entire top echelon of our military by insulting their intelligence and denigrating their careers spent defending our Constitution. The military probably won’t intervene but without their support the current illegitimate regime infesting the offices of our government have no means by which to enforce their agenda. The current situation is both horrific and conducive of anxiety and stress at maximum levels. But take a deep breath, step back and take a good hard look at exactly what is being destroyed. The existing corruption runs so deep that Medicare/Medicaid is just a way to funnel billions of dollars into the pockets of Big Pharma and privatized, for profit Healthcare at all levels with the exception of those doing the actual work like nurses and orderlies who are being grossly underpaid. Replacing that with a genuine nonprofit universal healthcare for all is not going to happen if Congress goes back to funding the existing corruption. The above is just one example. Education is another area that needs rebuilding from scratch so that everyone has access to whatever education optimizes their personal contribution to our society. Elections and elected representatives need a corruption firewall to keep out the greed obsessed corporate executives and billionaires. Living wages must be mandatory for everyone. Deficits must be automatically funded by higher taxes on the wealthy. Literally every aspect of our government needs to be restructured from the ground up. With a task this monumental, why am I hopeful? Because We the People inherited the concept of governing ourselves from our Forefathers. They put their lives on the line to make that happen. Where we are now is not significantly different to where they were 250+ years ago. If they could do it against the reigning Superpower of their time then so can we. We have the knowledge and the votes to change our Constitution and our government of We the People into something that works for all of us. So my hope stems from my trust in We the People to do what is right when this sh1tshow flushes itself down the toilet because it is currently just a bunch of turds circling the bowl that no one wants to have in our lives. It will collapse because the only things sustaining it are hatred, bigotry and fear. We have love for our country, our Constitutional Rights and more than enough of us willing to make our lives better than they were before. South Africa went from white supremacist Apartheid to a Constitutional democracy when the votes of every citizen were counted in a free and fair election. We can do the same. We will form a More Perfect Union in the Image of We the People.

But trying to reason with someone who refuses to see beyond their own beliefs? That’s like talking to a wall. No matter how much logic or truth you present, they will twist, deflect, or dismiss your words, not because you’re wrong, but because they’re unwilling to see another side. Maturity isn’t about who wins an argument—it’s about knowing when an argument isn’t worth having. It’s realizing that your peace is more valuable than proving a point to someone who has already decided they won’t change their mind. Not every battle needs to be fought. Not every person deserves your explanation. The current study aimed to provide the first estimate of retransitioning and to report the current gender identities of youth an average of 5 years after their initial social transitions. Methods: The current study examined the rate of retransition and current gender identities of 317 initially transgender youth (208 transgender girls, 109 transgender boys; M = 8.1 years at start of study) participating in a longitudinal study, the Trans Youth Project. Data were reported by youth and their parents through in-person or online visits or via e-mail or phone correspondence. Results: We found that an average of 5 years after their initial social transition, 7.3% of youth had retransitioned at least once. At the end of this period, most youth identified as binary transgender youth (94%), including 1.3% who retransitioned to another identity before returning to their binary transgender identity. A total of 2.5% of youth identified as cisgender and 3.5% as nonbinary. Later cisgender identities were more common among youth whose initial social transition occurred before age 6 years; their retransitions often occurred before age 10 years. Conclusions: These results suggest that retransitions are infrequent. More commonly, transgender youth who socially transitioned at early ages continued to identify that way. Nonetheless, understanding retransitions is crucial for clinicians and families to help make retransitions as smooth as possible for youth. Copyright © 2022 by the American Academy of Pediatrics.
