Animal Man is an absolutely insane pick for that. One of the reasons I got into comics was because I'd heard of crazy runs like Morrison's Animal Man and wanted to read them for myself.

Generally a new game plus has you carrying over items and/or upgrades from your original playthrough. Basically you start the game overpowered. This is true for pretty much ever NG+ I can think of

Original Sin is much closer to BG3 but I also recommend Divinity 2 cuz its just so Weird™
