What's not to like?

8pm gone and they're all still hard at it 🌱

A few followers will recognise this reclaimed area of our second #allotment.

Just look at the Dahlias 🌱 now, in their glory and attracting a serious amount of pollinators, especially ground #bees.

18C and sunny here in North Yorks. Bring it on! 👋👍

Excuse the wheelbarrow, it's an heirloom..

so many varieties performing really well for us this year. Have backed off the watering of course but 18C outside here in NYorks today. A second succession in the polytunnel is doing great. From now on in, this is the start of our freezing time, but we're still eating fresh Toms 🌱 every day.

US followers will be mystified, but tonight we joined the Green Party.

Feel free to unfollow 😘

Winter salad greens 🌱 are away nicely. To be transplanted into greenhouses when the fruiting veg comes out in late November

< How it started, some carrots sown between Korean Mint and Marigolds and Chard 🌱 - in an attempt to thwart bad nematodes on the carrots.

Not bothered about that place. You know, we read it to get relevant positive news on Ukraine situation. This place, based on our selection, is either positive - gardening, etc or ICE, Trump, etc which we then filter out. I could name 20 wonderful a/c's who've fallen silent and for the same reasons
royandtanyaorganic.bsky.social
hmmm, we're not getting any of that. Not had a follower in 3 days lol. Too boring see!!! People don't like 5 (veg photos) a day 😂

It is quiet, but I can't agree tbh. We've been very selective on who we follow back. We follow few and have had to mute a few daft accounts who persist - as if they were still on the other place. Historically, some lovely interactions with folks who've now been scared off this place too. anyways....
royandtanyaorganic.bsky.social
But it's gone quiet, so many lovely accounts have gone silent. Some folks clammering for followers, following and then those folks follow back without looking at their bios or history of posting. Human nature I guess..... I'd rather interact with a few trusted.. like your good self 🙄

It's so quiet on here at the moment. Information overload I expect; too much negative news being posted & reposted about. I thought that was why folks had left Twitter?

We're off to the #allotment tomorrow, our Happy Place. To tend some plants 🌱, to harvest and to chill.

Blue skies folks 👋
Our vegetable garden, plots 33(L) and 34(R). Our happy place, twice a week. A central path punctuates the plots, a tap for watering and some greenhouses and sheds.

yeah, we were all putting on our slightly thicker shorts

so much more light for you and a modicum of solar gain. At home for us, the rear garden has lost the Sun now and we can't move the house. However, the allotment garden is bathed in Sun year round, even at it it's lowest at the end of the year. Salute to your Tomatoes 👋

Great British humour, Great British voices and I think that we're correct in saying that 'Plasticene' was created in the UK too.... ?

Light relief and a very funny YT channel.

I've also an early Dyson dedicated to the belt/disc sander in the workshop and - speak as I find - it really keeps the air clean. Needs a cyclone added to it to facilitate emptying but it's ok. 👍
royandtanyaorganic.bsky.social
I have a Henry in the workshop for high-powered suction like routers, etc and I agree totally but see no reason to buy another brand while her ladyship is content with the current solution. We'll see how the swap-out Bosch battery fix lasts.... £14
royandtanyaorganic.bsky.social
I'll keep you posted. The slips planted outside haven't fared so well but maybe there's something of a tiny crop? we are still green and 17max/10?min. In the polytunnel there are 2 large tubs and they are rampant, so similar temps to you. We shall see. 👍 Thanks!
royandtanyaorganic.bsky.social
I bought a knock off 6Ah battery five years ago and that has lasted but now can't do a floor in one hit, hence this route for now.
royandtanyaorganic.bsky.social
Not a fan of Dyson and will certainly never buy another.

In the meantime, here's a nifty fix that mounts one of my armoury of Bosch 18v batteries to it.
royandtanyaorganic.bsky.social
Our first time as not really suited to a UK climate. Appear to be doing well, no wabbits, tabbies or groundhogs so far. Out of interest please - what are your min/max temps at the moment?
royandtanyaorganic.bsky.social
We multi-sow into modules (happier with their mates!) in late August. They're transplanted into beds now and will be fleeced in early December. Flooding? not really a risk here as sunken paths and mounded beds
