Our behaviour affects everything, including population. It's true that you need massive (maybe unrealistic) amounts of individual and systemic change to affect population, but the same goes for anything. If working on population is mathematically pointless, why isn't it the same for everything else?

I'm not sure this works out. At 1.4 per woman (assuming they have the children by age 30), 100 infants born at year 0 would be 100 30-year-olds plus about 70 children of various ages by year 30. By year 60, that's another 49 children for a total pop around 219 minus mortality.

It would have been funnier if each planet said "One year."
