I have been thinking that 50 should be the number but I think the critical thing is to have good candidates in as many districts as possible and then echo the constituents’ message to them.

Is there any reporting on Mike Johnson’s news diet? Like is it exclusively the Babylon Bee and his kid’s school newsletter?

Apropos of nothing in particular, the last five years have shown that impeachment is principally a political tool and if the Republicans believe it is in their best interests to believe that starting a foreign war to distract from Epstein is impeachable then it is.

I vaguely recall something in the constitution saying that the article 1 branch is supposed to be in charge of taxation.

Deporting people who disproportionately work in construction to make housing more affordable is like killing cats to fight the bubonic plague.

We have all wondered for years which of his flaws fit the literary definition of a tragic flaw.

It’s the court of public opinion so the standard is “the bastards look guilty as hell” instead of beyond a reasonable doubt.

My theory is that a lot of folks in red states are aware that the administration is taking away rights and benefits from all of us to enrich the wealthy. If I were a campaign strategist or someone in party leadership, I would look for candidates who can say that authentically in those districts.

Ezra Klein and Joe Manchin are right about some stuff and wrong about some stuff. I found both interviews difficult for different reasons. We need to hear those voices and we have to make room for anyone in the coalition who is loyal to the constitution.

As far as I can tell NPR is still acting like an independent news agency. There is also a lot of independent media, though most of them are still small and rely a lot on others’ reporting.
