An anonymous photo of a pregnant model from many years ago. I was experimenting with shadows on the figure from a venetian blind. I think this worked well.

From a shoot in Gatineau Park with @minhly-model.bsky.social several years ago. I call this one "The Light at the End of the Tunnel."

Trump wants to make Canada the 51st state (with only 2 senators, of course) and plans to use economic force to pressure us. The tariffs weren't really about fentanyl and illegal border crossings. Canadians say "No fucking way!" and many are boycotting US goods and travel.

The scariest photo I have ever taken (details in alt text). My assistant and I both recommended against this, but @denisastrakova.bsky.social was confident and really wanted to do this pose. She succeeded beautifully.

Her outstretched arms rest on the sides of the opening, giving her body the shape of an arrow. Two dozen large bolts surround the opening, possibly once used to attach a lid. The photograph was shot from an upper level through a rectangular opening in the concrete which forms a frame for the image. The vat is roughly two storeys deep with no access at the bottom. Denisa inched her way out over the vat, I took the photo, and she inched her way back to the edge. My assistant and I gave a big sigh of relief. I have often wondered if I should have just said "no" because of the risk, but she was confident that she could do it. She did an amazing job, and I got the shot.

Over a 7 year period before Covid I made 20 visits to an abandoned paper mill in Quebec and worked with a total of 26 models. The mill has since been demolished. This is called "Ray of Hope" with local model Sandy (not on here).

My first nude shoot in 2008 was with a life drawing model. In this shot we were experimenting with continuous light plus flash (speedlight) using rear-curtain sync and a 4-second exposure while moving. Could use better definition and brightness on the back figure, but I think it turned out OK.
A nude woman appears to be fighting with her shadow self as she changes position and throws punches. The photo is blurred from the model's movement, except for a sharp image of the frontmost figure superimposed on the blur.
