At least it got the Game of the Year on Steam.

So it's like that Crystal Dynamics' Avengers game but with more game system emphasis?

But can I work on the game to help with ideas?

... I'm half joking and not really, 😅.

It would be great to see tine-in games in this day and age. My recent discovery of one, that I didn't know much about, was with this BTS.

The biggest thing to a game developer is that it's our job to constantly learn. If a tool/tech prevents that, it's not worth learning that to stop ourselves from doing our job. But definitely agree with the blurb.

And also funding Powerwash Simulator haha.

The Bioshock series. The games do a good job using audio logs to build the context of locations or environmental storytellling while players deals with gameplay elements.

Though the storefronts aren't the only issue. Payment processors are also threatening not to do business with these storefronts if they distribute something that the processors don't like. It sucks to have 2 layers of ambiguity for why it's a 'no' to the game releases.

Yayy! Congrats! I finished their game last month so looking forward to your work in their next game.

Because at some point, they might do this too much to where they thought that the work they did "belongs" to them. I want Level-5 to succeed but this whole thing is really hard to support or know if they will turn away from the process at some point.

From the article, I really dislike their use of stealing audience textures for Inazuma & GPT generated descriptions. Mixed on AI sharpening images. Everything else is used as refs for artists which is slightly OK. Though, I hoped they would've at least come up with some of these things themselves.

This confused me at first but had to do some digging to help. Here's an article to back this claim up. This article is almost 2 years old.

Cherry-picking the stats is ridiculous but this means that the 47% remaining can either be $15k to $49k or $200k+. So is this implying that there are way more in the lower side of the higher side, smh.
November 14, 2025 at 8:55 PM
That is great news! Congrats and looking forward to it!

I would also add that within those years, we'll see more Asia-made games come out with big success. There would be more games coming out of Korea and China while Japan continues with their consistency of releases.

There's a certain tool you get later in the game that would help with this.

La La Land is one of my fave trailers because it had the visuals and the music (which I didn't know it was a musical until I watched it). Instantly got me to watch from this alone.

Unfortunately, it's a trend to farm for Steam points through the awards (specifically the 'Jester' award) that people give to those who post opposite opinions or controversial topics.

Had the same feelings when seeing layoffs happen. This also impacts my way of thinking for every job I go and apply to. Thinking maybe there could be someone way more qualified than me in the pool and just automatically anticipating the rejection.

Let the player discover the story and interpret it themselves or tell it straightforwardly to evoke feelings and thoughts. But I do prefer a bit more straight to the point objectives than to leave to just assume much of the story. My imagination can run wild sometimes.

Running into the same things you mentioned with my recent playthrough of Vanishing of Ethan Carter. It just gave vague hints of your objective & leaves you to wander a linear path. Just aimlessly do things when it comes up. I think this idea of 'vague storytelling' is very much a double edge sword.

My journey through the games industry so far has been just contractor roles. It'd be nice to get some full-time work at least once (or more, but really, more please). But I did a lot of work under contract and I do learn a lot from doing those jobs.

They'll also ignore the fact that these games have very little to no microtransactions/DLCs in them.
