Mad scientist.
Can a federal pardon really block any further civil suits from his victims? How solid is the precedent on this?

They probably try to avoid giving the antisemite of the year award to someone who would show up in person to accept with a shiteating grin on their face.

Michigan fan, and it was dumb to spend more than 5 seconds on that review. That said, the end zone fumble rule is also stupid and creates too big a competitive swing on those kinds of calls.

He’s going after the whiners who could have just paid for more leg room.

What’s the deal with half of successful petitions (majority of the House signed) then not passing in the final House vote? Cut a deal with the speaker to do something else?

The registered voters of the Democratic Party are the Democratic Party.

The Democratic Party has a plan to prevent fascism and gerontocracy by running young, appealing candidates with profiles and positions well suited to their electorates, like Sherrill AND Mamdani.

This seems like a promising drug, but the 100x number is “100x stronger than a particular related compound that the bacterium makes naturally, but is not strong enough to be a useful antibiotic”. Not “100x stronger than all current antibiotics”.

Trump doesn’t get to appoint his replacement. He was on senior status and his replacement was appointed many years ago.

Bad article, good kicker.

Explain how losing the filibuster while in the minority and still not getting health care would have been a “win”.
November 10, 2025 at 2:03 PM
Would the messaging have been stronger if D’s kept it going for another month? Maybe! They have been winning the messaging war so far. But to think that in another month or two R’s would have thrown in the towel and funded major Democratic legislation? Lol.

Delusional is thinking there was a real path to a house majority and Trump signature on extending the ACA subsidies.
November 10, 2025 at 3:01 AM
Well Schumer voted no, but the message is that your health care premiums are skyrocketing, D’s wanted to stop that, and R’s wanted it to happen so much that they were willing to starve people and cancel Thanksgiving to make sure it did. To get them back down, you need an actual D majority.

There’s a misconception that shutdown is one weird trick that lets the party in the minority somehow enact major policy into law, and it’s pure wishcasting. The shutdown shows voters what you are willing to go to the mats for if and when they put you back in the majority. That’s it.

Nothing like an endless supply of body-warmed lager.

He was on senior status - he was already semi-retired with a reduced workload, and his successor had already been appointed. Moving to full retirement doesn’t create an opening for a Trump appointee, but it does allow him to speak freely.

EVs are worse than gas cars if you can’t charge where you sleep (a problem for some urban users), but they’re better if you can. Unless you drive 400 miles nonstop, recharging 1x at a supercharger takes as long as a fast food lunch. At a higher market share, every decent hotel will have chargers.

Over 80% of Americans live in urban areas or metropolitan suburbs. Unless you’re doing long road trips away from interstates, EVs are more convenient than gas cars. I never use a charger outside my home except on road trips.

I’m assuming that when the shutdown ends Congress gives everyone back pay and this cash ends up in Trump admin pockets.
