I spoke at Labour Conference 1994 and was staggered to find TB and whole shadow cabinet on platform to hear me (NOT) as I was then followed by barn storming speaker deputy leader John Prescott .

@alastaircampbell2.bsky.social husband gave John Prescott & Alistair lift from Trimdon (June 1995 anniversary of leadership) to Darlington Station along back road with only 12min to train. Alistair hangs on for life & John says “it’s fine Alistair you’re ok this guy drives ambulance for a living.”

Helped establish one and was head of the other . There is no doubt of impact of poor educational achievement and I might add poor primary health care on outcomes for young people .
