The statue was relocated to Drammensveien 88, directly in front of the Iranian Embassy in Oslo in November 2022.

This move was a deliberate act of solidarity with Iranian women protesting for their rights, following the global outcry after the death of Mahsa Amini.

Correction: It seems Merkur Watch (a.k.a. 凡志) is from 2010, so actually now I have no clue what the 5 years is a reference to. 🤔

Some of their other watches have the GPS coordinates to their HQ on the back, which is actually a much cooler thing IMHO. Again however, I guess GPS does not go with the old time feel they wanted, so yeah… OK, I can let that slide. 😉

Oh and the 5 years is a reference to the fact that the company started in 2020 and this model came out this year. It probably would have made more sense to write 2020 but perhaps they felt that did not make them sound old enough for the styling.

@alex The five year thing is interesting. That is how old the brand is but this is not useful unless you know they started in 2020 and what year this model came out. I guess they didn't want to write 2020 directly because it would undermine the dated feel they aimed for. 😉

The Shíchen markings however are functional due to the fact that this is a 24 hour movement and there are 12 on the dial, while it takes a day for the hour hand to do a revolution. So that is fun! 😍
