Might be a bizarre suggestion but have you ever considered contacting a fursuit maker about it? Because as people who wear rugs for fun, we've got a whole repertoire of ways to make them comfortable and cool. Fursuit maker might be able to help you out/make pink bag setup that's more comfy less pain

Sometimes people seem to forget that independent traders are not the same as big business, make genuine mistakes and get confused, especially in busy convention settings. I don't know why people are allergic to giving someone grace for a mistake.
