Great food in DC (and really great Asian food in the MD suburbs), great arts/music scene, 1 million free things to do through the Smithsonian (museums, parks, etc), really strong/clean/well-kept metro/bus system, yes the Mexican food is not great but you can buy me breakfast tacos from La Tejana
