i find it so funny when old people ask me what i do bc i say i make music & they will say "oh what kind of music?" & ill go "hyperpop" and they say theyve never heard of it then all i can imagine is them coming home looking up hyperpop and they hear the most confusing sound in their 83 years of life
reddit post with title: Why are old people so negative about new music? body of post: I know a lot of old people and even younger people who go on and on about how today's music is "crap" and "autotuned garbage", why do they feel that way? I also checked the askoldpeople subreddit and anytime someone asked how they felt about modern music the majority would say something negative about it. Now there are the small minority of open-minded seniors who do appreciate new music, but it really is rare. How can you go possibly listen to the same tired old stuff over and over and discredit the amazing artists of today? I'm an open minded person who likes music from 1955 to the present and can not understand why a lot of people stop caring about new stuff past a certain age. Why the heck do a lot of people have a "cut-off" point where they cease to care about new music entirely.
