I'm against death penalty. But if they do firing squads like they used to, where only one of the shooters has a bullet, then this gives the executioners some hope that they are not becoming killers themselves (unlike those that administer injections)... Is it amiss that I care for the exectioners?

As a scientist and educator, I appreciated the stories about how indigenous ways of thinking are often disregarded by mainstream scientists. I hope her graduate advisors see the wrongness in their actions. (Actually, I liked all aspects of this book, so much that I had to buy a copy.)

And awful to think about the science that will be put on hold, not get done, or be ruined by the disruptions in funding and personnel.
