A varied thrush bird on a branch. The branch extends from the upper right to the lower left, and is covered in moss and lichen. The background is a dark shadowy green. The bird is perched on the branch, facing left. It is orange and black, with a black eye stripe, throat stripe, and black back. There is some orange barring on the wings, and the belly and throat are orange.

Absolutely flabbergasted that I got a photo of a kinglet today. They’re SO FAST and normally way up a tree. This little guy was quite obliging.

A brown bird of prey flies to the left in front of a marshland. The bird is a female or immature northern harrier. It has some darker striping on the wing feathers, and on the tail. There is a white patch at the base of the tail.
