Oliver, what is the source of the "Tysopicasso" SSGI shots you included? I'd love to experiment with this, however it's achieved.

They really should have used the 4.5 inch 3:2 screen found in the Pocket ACE.

Wouod have been a much better size and would potentially have allowed them to bring the sticks closer together for better ergonomics / everything feeling a lot less cramped.

I'm one of the very few who backed this (albeit the lowest spec + perk + I live in EU).

Tl;dr it meets the very specific niche I've been holding out for: a small, premium, 3:2, d-pad-on-top device with a screen width comparable to PSP and good ergonomics. 99% shouldn't buy it.

It's just way too rough around the edges in some of the most annoying ways. Like I also hate how opaque the uninstallation process is (no visibility in what's removed, lots of residual directories).

Just me?

I'd be surprised if it turns out to be as powerful as the Odin 2 (which has a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor). The Retroid Pocket 5 has a Snapdragon 865, I think.

No more info in their Discord server (where the video above was taken from).

Very excited for this, but I still can't get my head around that control scheme...

The placement of face buttons and sticks is most similar to the Wii U gamepad, but in this form-factor it's a complete unknown.

Will it be at all comfortable for d-pad focused games (GBA, SNES, etc.)? No idea. 🤷‍♂️

Almost certainly comparable to the Retroid Pocket 5.

It's just my preference - no hate. :)

I think the PSP/Vita layout is perfect for a handheld device, and I was looking forward to a clamshell device with recessed sticks and that configuration that improved on the first Flip.

D-pad on the bottom... 😭 ruined.
