Just another dev gone running 👟
Isn’t it a wild feeling thinking about how we are currently at the very early beginnings of something completely new? To witness the change of one era into another, experiencing the last and the first day at the same time. And, at the same time, see others be completely unhappy with both of them 😆
Using current LLMs reminds me of dial-up internet in the 90s.

Exciting and useful, but also very frustratingly slow.

When we go from being able to measure LLM output in Kbit/s to Mbit/s it's going to be amazing.

As the great @dancarlin.bsky.social loves to say "quantity has a quality all its own"

Oh and on the previous note - I DID IT! I crossed the finish line after two great, two hard, and four kind of horrible hours of running. Post covid, poorly dressed, but it was a learning experience! You have to calibrate pain thresholds every now and then. Extremely proud of making it!

Ugh just want to get out running right away. This day was 🥵

Go time! In 2,5 hours I’m starting the 45 k race. In total, I’ve run 133 km over 42 runs since starting in march. I also got covid a week ago, and broke my running streak. But as always, getting to the starting line is the real win - the rest will be an adventure! #nrc #vasaloppet #justdoit

Also, I’m stuck abroad. At least two airports and 7 hours of highway from home. But I’ve already decided that I’m still gonna show up on the starting line anyway.

Instead of chasing a finishing time, I’ll just see how far I could go. It’ll be an adventure! 😆 *coughs*

Still on a 21 week streak. One week left to the race. If i have a run today, that would be a 22 week streak. But for the past four days, I’ve been enjoying #covid again. Wow. Such timing.

Still going strong! Sort of. No impressive distances, no impressive times, but for me a very impressive 18 week streak of running at least once a week. I even got a compliment for my blood pressure! Now that’s worth celebrating. #NRC

Now, I long to the next run not to get away from where I am, not to get to the next place, but just to be in between for a while. A place where no one is watching, no one is expecting, and time stops as long as I don’t.

When I started running, it was an escape. A place to disappear for a while, to let my mind sort itself out, to make room for the next thing. Fact is, it’s been so efficient that I run less now. Or rather, less often, but more. Longer. Faster. It has become my own place, wherever I am.

Running isn’t about pace, splits, or distance metrics.

It’s about:

• Feeling the wind in your hair
• Hearing your breath sync with your steps
• That perfect morning light through the trees

Stop obsessing over data.

Run free.

Last week I was having a streak a 4 out of 4 days following the plan perfectly. Then comes the friday rush to finish work, followed by date night - no run. Then came the weekend - no run. Should have run 16k for the first time on Sunday (I’ve never run sp far before), but it never happened. 🤦‍♂️ #nrc

Ran 4,2 km outside yesterday in a sunny presummer day. Didn’t even feel far. Just enjoyed it. Could’ve easily gone longer, but didnt have more time at lunch. Upping cadence from 130 to 160 made a huge difference in economy. Feels like progress! 🏆

Today: 38 min speedrun! 🏎️

First run outside yesterday! Ground was still wet from rain, blue skies and a veeery pretty sunset. Only 2.5k, but every run counts, right? #nrc #running

Tried a short lunch run to wind down. Ended up doing saas support from the quad machine over sms 😅 can’t always win 🤷‍♂️

Ok, so… hit a mental barrier when the plan went from 1 long run a week to like… 4? 5K still feels long, the plan says 6+5+12K this week. The monday 10K overstrained my shoulder which has hurt since then, destroying sleep. So instead of 6+5K, I did 0+2K.

Feels vv hard rn. Any advice? #running #nrc

Another 5k this morning! As a recovery run. Knees were a little bit unsure, but got better. Last k went fast. Feeling strong! #nrc #running

The second time i ran 10k was in 2023, when i accepted a dare to join a race the same day - with no preparation or routine at all. That messed up my foot for weeks, if not months. Now, the day after running 8k, I’m barely even sore? It’s amazing how the body can adapt if given time (and protein) 😆

Yesterday was the first long run in my 18 week marathon program. 8k. 8k! The longest I’ve ever run before is 10k, and that has happened two times. Was a bit nervous, but appearantly staying consistant for 6 week makes an incredible distance! Struggled a bit at 6,5 km, but slowing down helped enough

It actually happened guys! I got out of bed 45 minutes early to get the run in. I think this run was the hardest to get started on yet, but I did. And now, at the end of the day, it feels awesome. Yesterday was a full rest day, in every way - called in sick and slept for 11 hours. Worth it!!

That’s the reason I feel such pride in finishing the first part: I’ve proven - to myself - that I really am capable of setting a goal, and then sticking to it. To show up no matter what. To find the energy. To choose the two marshmallows.

Now, I just have to keep proving it! 👟✨💪🏼

But, as I’ve learned from the lovely Coach Bennett these past weeks, every finish line is just another starting line. 👟

Now, the next part of my journey begins: to get in the best shape of my life, to keep prioritizing myself, and to keep pushing myself to ✨stay✨consistent✨

Today, I’m really proud. I’ve actually finished the NRC Get Started program, doing 12 runs over the past 4 weeks. This is my 5th week running. That’s consistency. And that’s not easy for someone with ADD. To me, getting inspired is easy and pushing through is hard. So this means a lot. #nrc #running

Just wanted to say, i snuck it in 😎 consistancy > quantity

Conspiring on how to sneak in a short run over lunch today. Way behind on work as it is… maybe just a quickie? Those ”recovery runs” gives me such peace of mind. Prioritizing some me-time in a socially accepted way. Maybe that says more about me than society #nrc #running
