Rumi's hair naturally being purple because of her heritage and she hates it. It feels like despair is inherently part of herself- she can never truly be rid of it

Bonus²; she also has 'no talk' days, pre-reveal she'd force herself through these days thinking it's her demon trying to steal her voice (which adds to the movie, where she couldnt really push through it)

That sometimes even no touch days, she craves their touch, even knowing it'll cause herself distress.

Post movie, during one of the Big Talks™, they ask if the no touch days are real or if it was just a way to hide her patterns, if the few times they messed up and she panicked if it was this maybe aversion or the patterns.

Shortly after Zoey joined them, she went for a hug, was shocked and sad when Rumi flinches back, thinking she did something wrong. Rumi struggling to explain, so she doesn't fully explain, just says some days touch is overwhelming and makes her panic.

This is unfortunately a very fortunate way to hide her patterns when she needs to wear short sleeves for a shoot, and she feels so guilty calling a 'no touch' day on days that aren't actually.
