I've made good Aussie friends. Simple at heart and grounded. When I visit their homes to break bread, the one philosophical doctrine that I always carry as a gift is Difficulty of Being Good by Gurcharan Das. It's a crash course to the equanimity behind the Eastern thought.

I studied International Relations to understand the world. But all the conventional theories are nearly inapplicable to this tumultuous global information order. And those who're trying to apply them are merely doing it to keep their jobs or maintain legitimacy.

I marvel at the folks who called out the techbro culture a decade ago. They saw it coming with such uncanny accuracy.

Was playing Name-Place-Animal-Thing with my six-year old son. And the letter he got is Z. The name he writes is: Zelensky. I'm not kidding

There are many things I love about Aussies. But one thing which is at the top of my list is that they're so happy installing these huge statues of corn, potato, pineapple and kangaroo. They couldn't care less about lionising some useless politician, demagogue or so called saint.

Back when folks were banning Huawei, many argued that it's not going to deter the CCP in surveiling global telco. This remains true since 3 decades. The hacking of lawful interception architecture was particularly pointed out as a case in point. The equities process behind this trade war was crap
“[CCP] officials might also privately dismiss U.S. concerns [over Salt Typhoon] as hypocritical. But that doesn’t stop the anger in Washington from being real: There is little that infuriates politicians more than the idea of foreign intrusion into private lives, especially their own.”

Introducing our second son Maitreya. His name is an ode to Aussie cultural idiom "mateship", whose root word is "maitri" from Sanskrit. Maitri comes from Proto-Indo-Iranian divinity for friendship, Mithras/Maitreya. Also a character in Mahabharat and known as as the last Bodhisattva in Buddhism.
